Attendance: No school, no lesson
(in case of snow, pre-scheduled school activities, holidays, etc).
If something comes up and you need to reschedule a lesson - I'll do
my best - but my schedule is very full as well - so it may not
always be possible. If you do not show up for your lesson and you
did not contact me at least 24 hours in advance to let me know you
have a conflict, the lesson is still charged. I'm setting aside time
for you - I expect you to do the same
Materials Needed: All high school clarinet students will work out of the following books. You do need to purchase your own copy of at least the first two, as we will pencil in notes & tips during lessons. District and State band audition music comes out of the Rose Etudes and Klose Method, and both of those books will be used throughout college for any clarinet student who continues in music past high school. If a student is not continuing on in music after high school, they can EASILY be resold or passed on to a younger student. I still have (and use regularly) my Rose Etudes & Klose method that I studied from when I was in high school! Please do not ask to have music photocopied.
We will probably choose additional solo or ensemble literature from the school's music library so there should not be any additional sheet music costs. 6th Grade students: We will work out
of the method book you have for band. Central Band in Warrensburg and Meyer Music in Blue Springs both keep this literature in stock. You can also order it online through Amazon or SheetMusicPlus. Lesson Schedule: Winter 2007-08 Small Ensembles Coaching (advance
request only please)
