BAND BOOSTER NEWS

Band Booster meeting was called to order at 7:00 in the library of the high school. There were 20 people present.

Minutes of the previous meeting were distributed to each person. Motion made, seconded, and carried to accept the minutes as written.

Treasurer’s Report – Lisa Johnson

Fund Raising $26,927.99
Deposit of $1,125 paid to Hard Rock Café. Deposit of $2,000 paid to Dixie Classic.
Treasurer’s report was accepted as given by motion and second.

Preview night – Middle School Guard, High School Guard, and Drumline are performing for a preview night on April 10 prior to the High School Guard’s departure to Dayton for Nationals. Excellent opportunity to see all the shows one final time at home for the season. Good luck at Nationals!!

Trash Bags: New yellow trash bags are ordered and received. 250 rolls in this order.

Patricia’s receipts – We can all be saving the Patricia’s receipts for fund raising. Boosters will earn 1% of the total, excluding alcohol and cigarettes. Pam Raffurty will handle collecting and redeeming the receipts.

Pam Raffurty is now on the checking account along with Lisa Johnson. The bank would like both to work together on balancing the account once per month. They do not have to both sign each check.

Golf Tournament – We currently have 19 hole sponsors and 5 golfing teams actually registered. Several teams have indicated interest, so we anticipate having the required 12 teams. Meyer Music will bring shirts for event staff. Each golfer will receive a welcome packet that includes a sleeve of golf balls and some additional items. We will need 10-12 volunteers to work at the tournament. Mr. Hansen will arrange to have some students present. Those students who are not paid up for the Chicago trip will be targeted to work. Volunteers should arrive by 12:15 (a few should arrive at 11:30 for setup).

Camping Lot Raffle We will be refunding the money to those who purchased raffle tickets for the camping lot. Each person who bought a ticket will receive a refund check.

Chicago trip – 94 students will be attending. We have ample chaperones. An agenda will be posted on the band website. (www.odessabands.com) All chaperones will need to sign up for their dinner choice on the band website. Students will make their choice during class.

Spring concert is Thursday, May 10, at 7:00 p.m. Time restrictions beyond the control of the band staff will prevent the senior/senior parent recognition that has been the tradition at the spring concert. Seniors and their parents will be recognized at the band banquet.

Officers – New Band Booster officers are typically chosen at the April meeting. We will work toward selecting those officers at the May meeting or developing an officer ballot at that time. If you have interest in becoming an officer of the Band Boosters, please let Mr. Hansen or Carrie Moore know of your interest.
