Grain Valley – The 86
students in the Marching Eagles are under the direction of Marti
Schonberger-Whelan, Director; Ryan Cox, Assistant Director; and
Lori Arnold, Color Guard. The field show, In the Jungle,
includes “I Wanna Be Like You,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Trashin’ the
Camp,” “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” and “The Circle of Life.” Drum
majors are Veeder Ransonm, Ashlee Ackley, and Sarah McGinty. |
Harrisonville – The Royal
Regiment of Harrisonville High School has 115 members. Their
classic rock show will include “Pinball Wizard,” “Bohemain
Rhapsody,” “Low Rider,” and “Mr. Roboto.” Band staff includes
Andy Kroesen, Director; Mark Smith, Assistant Director; Adam
Twenter, Assistant Director; Shea Twenter, Color Guard
Coordinator; and Nichole Tews, Color Guard Assistant. Drum
majors are Melissa Bledsoe, Kevin Lawson, and Aly Oparnico. |
Lafayette Co. C-1– The
Husker Blue Knights are under the direction of Andy Knehans and
flag corps coordinator Katie Dye. Drum majors Camden Pulliam and
Kristina Popejoy will lead this 58-member group in That 70’s
Show in field competition including “School’s Out,” “You Shook
Me All Night Long,” and “Live and Let Die.”

Lee’s Summit West – The
Titan Pride will perform their field show Titan Blue with songs
“Above,” “How Long Has This Geen Going On,” “May I have Your
Attention for This Drum Feature,” and “Titan Blue.” Band staff
includes Clifton Thurmond, Shawn Harrel, Brian Hartman, Melanie
Morrisey, Heather Guental, Ashley Emerson, and Elizabeth Puyear
for this 95-member ensemble. Drum majors are Sean Collier and
Chelsea Young. |
Lone Jack – The Mule Pride
Marching Band will perform the music of Queen with “Crazy Little
Thing Called Love,” “We Will Rock You,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Drum majors are Cora Wilson and Sean Feehan. Director Byrant
Knapp and Secretary Sandy Steele work with this ensemble of 48
students. |
Macon – The Macon Tiger
Marching Band will perform their Latin/Jazz field show with
“Estancia,” “Caravan,” “Echano,” and “Land of Make Believe.”
Drum major Alex Hamilton leads this 54-member group under the
direction of Jamie Baker, Head Director; Dan Harbaugh, Assistant
Director, and Kallie Baker, Guard.

Park Hill – Drum majors
Emily Reinhardt, Lillian Cain, and Josh DeSilva lead the
138-member Trojan Pride Marching Band. They are directed by Ky
Hascall, Director; Justin Doss, Associate Director; Chris Brough,
Drumline; and Kristen Wright, Color Guard. Songs include “The
Black Pearl/He’s a Pirate,” “The Medallion Calls,” and “To the
Pirate’s Cave.” |
Pleasant Hill – The Pride
of the Hill Marching band will explore Decades of Rock with
field performance of “Soak Up The Sun,” “Let It Whip,” “In The
Stone,” and “Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine In.” The band has 88
members, including drum majors Debbie Duncan, Jillian Jones, and
Deanna Bradford. Band is under the direction of Jim Beerends,
Director; Erica Hidritch, Assistant; and Jessica Dunaway, Color
Guard. |
Raymore-Peculiar – Drum
majors Chris Ballinger, David Casto, and Shawn Watson lead the
103 students in the Ray-Pec Panther Pride. The band will perform
The Music of Paul Simon including “Bridge Over Troubled Water,”
“You Can Call Me Al,” “Still Crazy After All These Years,” “50
Ways to Leave Your Lover,” and “Late in the Evening.” Staff
includes Bill Turley, Director of Bands; Dillon Jarrett,
Assistant Director; Elizabeth Wholetz, Color Guard; and Pat Van
Zandt, Drum Line.

Sherwood – Blood, Sweat, &
Tears is the title of the field show being performed by the
Marching Marksmen of Sherwood. The 46 students are under the
direction of Rosemarie Gretzinger with assistant director Doug
Osborne. Drum majors are Nathaniel Orr and Cassie Cunningham.
Field selections include “More & More,” “Spinning Wheel, and
“And When I Die.”

Warrensburg – Drum majors
Emilee Jordan, Kristin Rode, and Krystal Thurm lead this
155-member group. This year’s field production features the
music of Rent including “Rent,” “Without You,” “Tiger 4 U,” and
“Seasons of Love.” Band staff includes Chuck Appleton, Director;
Barb Metcalf, Assistant Director/Color Guard; Owen Taylor,
Marching Assistant, and Dr. Michael Sekelsky, Drumline
Coordinator. |
William Chrisman – Red
October will be the theme for the field show from the William
Chrisman Marching Bruins. Songs include “Night On Bald
Mountain,” “Saber Dance,” and “Bald Mountain Chorale/Firebird
Suite.” Drum majors are Jared Ory and Maddie Weston. The
Marching Bruins are under the direction of Tim Herndon, Dudley
Wade, and Suzanna Yaykee, Color Guard. |

Odessa Band of Distinction
(in Exhibition) The 2006 field show theme is “Rising,” which is a compilation of music all arranged by Assistant Band Director Kirby Spayde. The show includes “I Know Where I Am Going,” adapted by Robert W. Smith; “Fire,” by Gary Gilroy; and “Celestial Legend,” by David Shaffer. |
