About the Odessa Marching
Invitational
This festival features a format where all bands compete in the
parade and field portions of the festival. Indoor percussion and
auxiliary competitions are optional. The bands are put into equal
classes according to school size. In most cases the classes are no
bigger than four bands in each class. This festival also uses two
non-adjudicating clinicians. The clinicians watch the performance
and then use the next 15 minutes to share positive aspects of the
field performance, and things to think about for future improvement.
There are overall awards for drum major, percussion, winds, and
auxiliary in addition to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place trophies in
each class.
2010 Participating Bands:
Blue Springs South, Bonner Springs (KS), Fulton, Mexico,
Oak Grove, Park Hill South, Parkview, Raytown, School of the
Osage, Seymour, Smith-Cotton, Smithville, Warrensburg,
