ODESSA MARCHING INVITATIONAL - October 22, 2011

About the Odessa Marching Invitational
This festival features a format where all bands compete in the parade and field portions of the festival. Indoor percussion and auxiliary competitions are optional. The bands are put into equal classes according to school size. In most cases the classes are no bigger than four bands in each class. This festival also uses two non-adjudicating clinicians. The clinicians watch the performance and then use the next 15 minutes to share positive aspects of the field performance, and things to think about for future improvement. There are overall awards for drum major, percussion, winds, and auxiliary in addition to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place trophies in each class.

2011 Participating Bands: Leeton, Clark County, Holden, Richmond, School of the Osage, Oak Grove, Bonner Springs, Savannah, Mexico, Harrisonville, Warrensburg, Smith-Cotton, Raytown, William Chrisman, Blue Springs South, Odessa (in exhibition). Contact Grant Maledy, Director of Bands for band registration information.
