The Odessa High
School Guard Program has two seasons during the
year- the fall season and winter season. During the
fall, the color guard performs and competes with the
Band of Distinction from the months of September -
November. They also rehearse 2 days per week through
June, July and August. During the school year, they
rehearse from 7-8:45 am, daily, and on Tuesday and
Friday evenings.
In the winter, the
Odessa Winter Guard Program has an extensive
schedule, rehearsing approx. 8-10 hours per week,
and performing on Saturdays. The unit is a member of
the Mid-Continnent Color Guard Association and
Winter Guard International. They also compete with
WGI on the regional and national level.
The program also
serves a middle school program at Odessa Middle
School during the winter season. They rehearse one
day per week, and the unit is the reigning Gold
Medalist in the Middle School Classification in
MCCGA. Auditions for this unit are held in October
every year.
All units are under
the direction of Lindsey Hansen, with staff
assistance by Kim Kras, Liz Wohletz, and Chris
Putnam.
